if we don’t know each other yet, may I introduce myself?

I’m Lukas, I grew up in the middle of the Austrian Alps and my love for nature and outdoor sports has been a major influence on my creative process.

Since 2005 the camera has been my constant companion and it all started in the snowboard industry. 

In 2013 I dared to take the step into creative self-employment.

I photograph for brands and tourism, working closely with various creatives and companies to develop, channel and implement concepts and ideas. My love and passion for design and aesthetics is the foundation of my work. The contrasts of the old and the new, of character and style, of form and individual expression all add up to the big picture.
I am known for outdoor sports photography like skiing, hiking, biking and fashion. My images are meant to embody a journey that expresses the most beautiful emotions, stories and thoughts. A journey for sun-seekers who live their curiosity and free spirit. Moments that invite you to dream and lean back.

In addition, I’ve been involved in the creation of companies such as @matiabeachwear (as co-founder) and @Venediger-Lodge (as art director) and I’m proud to have spent the last eight years sharing my self-taught knowledge and perspectives.

I am a self-described introvert and am in love with the tranquillity and power of rugged nature. Whether in the water or in the mountains, it remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me.

Because I am passionate about so many things, and like to dream. I often find it difficult to discover my true self and go my own way. I tend to compare myself to others more than necessary, especially on social media. I also need to stop worrying about everything and everyone to make more space in my head to be more free and creative.

I know, now would be the time to complain about IG and what it has become. While I’m in agreement with a lot of it, I’m also immensely grateful for the platform. It has allowed me to meet new people and find new inspiration, some of whom have become friends for life. In addition, by bringing more attention to my work, it has helped me navigate and grow professionally.

In that sense, it’s up to us to make IG what we want it to be. We need to take photos that we are proud of and that tell a story, regardless of whether they fit into the grid or whether they are well received.
Let’s just be more creative and ignore the algorithm.
